Lindenbaum strenghtens litigation practice with two new hires and promotion

Lindenbaum is pleased to announce that it is expanding its litigation practice with the arrival of Noor Hogerzeil (counsel) and Serap Akbaba (legal trainee). Lindenbaum is also pleased to announce the promotion of Dizzy van Duijn to the role of associate (advocaat-stagiair).

Managing partner Damiën Berkhout: “We are happy and proud that Noor and Serap are joining the firm. They are smart, terrific people that will ensure we can even better represent our clients. A great way for the firm to start 2024.

Noor Hogerzeil has extensive experience in complex (multi-jurisdictional) commercial and product litigation, with a focus on mass and collective action litigation. Noor Hogerzeil commented: “I’m thrilled to be joining the highly experienced dispute resolution team at Lindenbaum. Their pragmatic approach and strategic thinking immediately appealed to me. I look forward to working with these seasoned litigators to achieve the best results for our clients.” Previously, Noor was a senior associate at Hogan Lovells.

Serap Akbaba previously worked as a legal advisor for Intertrust. She commented: “I am very happy and excited about the opportunity at Lindenbaum. It is a great next step in my career, and I very much look forward to my time at Lindenbaum.”

Dizzy van Duijn previously worked as a paralegal at the firm, and assisted with several complex high profile litigation cases.

The Amsterdam District Court ruled that the representative organization Stichting Farma Ter Verantwoording is admissible in its collective action against pharmaceutical giant AbbVie. The case now moves on to the merits phase, in which the court will assess whether Abbvie abused its dominant position and violated human rights by charging excessive prices for its Humira medicine.
